Great filters
I bought a Pur water filter and of course, needed refills. I've been impressed with how long these last. The sticker these come with estimate about a months worth of usage, which is pretty accurate with regular usage. I felt the price was very reasonable for the number of filters I got. Set up is easy but I'm sure to follow the directions, especially not using hot water when refilling. They make a significant difference in the water taste and quality, placebo I think not. I will be buying these again when I need to refill my filters. I also bought the larger pur water filter which fits great in my fridge - long and narrow so as to not take up too much space but still holds a lot of water so it doesn't need to be refilled once a day.

This is absolutely fine, what’s up with 1 stars?
I have no idea what other reviewers are talking about. These produce perfectly tasty water and absolutely removes a ton of the chlorine and other “purification” elements from the water company. I need to disagree with others, these work and the only downside is they’re not immediately filtering water - but that sort of demonstrates it’s a throrough process. PUR products are definitely better than Brita, I’ve had mine for over three years and have been replacing only these.

An excellent alternative to buying commercially bottled water.
We LOVE this filtration system. Our tap water, while safe to drink, has a heavy chlorine taste as well as an almost kerosene scent to it. To drink it straight from the tap is really unpleasant, no matter how fast you gulp it down. We purchased the larger counter-top filtration pitcher because we use water for everything, coffee, cooking, travel mugs, even our soda maker. Hands down, Pur beats other models we've tried. The odor is removed, and the water is fairly tasteless. This is particularly critical for the use in our soda maker, as the water taste is amplified somehow when carbonated. One of the things we've notice, like others who have posted, is that the filter slows down over time. We have learned the best way to avoid this is to keep the upper chamber continuously full of water, so that as filtered water is removed for use, it automatically drains through the filter. In this way, the filter is constantly kept wet. It seems to us that the filter will dry out quickly if the pitcher is not constantly full, and suddenly, water doesn't want to pull through it any more. The filter lasts a reasonably long time if you use in the manner I've described. We only have to change out the filter every two months, despite the incredible amount of water the family consumes. A great investment if you can't afford a water treatment system, and are looking for alternatives to the cost (and eco-damage) of bottled water.

A great waer filter. They don't last quite as long as Pur says they should. They are definitely worth the cost.
I finally took my doctor's advice and got rid of the diet soda and changed to water. I did a little research and found the reviews put Pur a nose or two above the competition. The difference between the taste AND SMELL of filtered water vs. tap is amazing. I went about a week drinking tap water and was ready to go back to soda. I went out and bought the 18 cup dispenser. I like the fact that it sits in my refrigerator and all I need do is hit the tap to pour water into my glass. For me it that is more convenient that a pitcher. I see someone wrote that Pur no longer sends the little calendar wheels with the filters. My last batch did have them. It's an inconvenience, but I would not take a star away if the next box I order came without them. In the end it is my senses of taste and smell that dictate when the filter needs to be changed. For what it's worth (you might want to keep this in mind when you're calculating what you may be spending over the course of a year for filters), I never come close to the 64 ounces of water my doctor says I am supposed to get every day. I live alone. I have found the filters are pretty much spent and not doing their job at the six-week mark. You might want to keep that in mind. I suspect it would not make it past a month for a family. To be honest, the little calendars are nice, but not overly necessary. My nose and taste buds do a pretty good job of alerting me that a filter change is needed. If you are like me and have been getting your hydration from sources that you know are not the best for you, give the Pur system a chance. It took me about a week to get over my soda 'Jones.' I am glad I did it. You will be too!

Great improvement and long lasting.
The 3 pack lead reducing filter works great. I thought my tap water taste fine until I used these and i immediately noticed the improved taste. It does filter a litter slower but that's a good thing. If you follow prep instructions they work great. But if you just put it in your container without soaking and shaking a little it does not work as well. Many reviews are old and not for the newer filters. I use mine for cooking and making huge pots of bone broth. The filers last me for a few months and I drink at least 70 ounces daily. I highly recommend.

No issues with my purchase
I read through the bad reviews for this product listing and was nervous to purchase, but took a chance. Fortunately, I had a good experience as there have been zero issues with the filters I received. They did not arrive damaged and after the initial soaking and rinsing process, I get a clean pitcher of water after 15 minutes or less. PUR filters yield the cleanest and sweetest tasting water to my palette.

Great product !
Great product. Highly recommend. I have been using the pur filter for years and still swear by it for great tasting water! Only once in Awhile does it clog after abt a month of use, but that has been a rare occurance, and with this order, was enclosed a card with declogging instructions should that occur. I have always loved the taste of the water purified from tap water. Better than any bottled water . I buy the 3 or 4 replacement sets as the most economical . Highly recommend and no complaints

Filters calcium like crazy
We Love to drink tea and coffee. Using bottled Florida Zephyrhills in the kettle and coffee machine and within a few weeks, they would be covered and clogged with calcium build up. I decided to find a solution... Been using these filters and the on counter jug for many months now and it works great. Kettle and coffee machine stay spotless for months on end. Once I start seeing the slightest bit of calcium buildup in the kettle, that's when I know that the filter is toast and time to replace. I get a good 3 months of use out of it. Not sure how many gallons but we buy 6 gallon boxes from BJ's and use A TON of it. I'm guessing since the bottled water is already filtered and clean as can be, the filter doesn't have to work as hard to remove that final bit of calcium that plagues my kettle, so they last longer. I'm a happy camper and LOVE the discounted price of the 3 pack on Amazon. $7 per filter is a small price to pay for months of super clean drinking water.

STAPLE PRODUCT,
Ever since I had my kids I have a smeller and tastebuds like you wouldn't believe. I can stand in front of a trash can and smell the individual smells. I have smelled a fire an hour before hand even being called crazy when we went to find it and seen nothing. I can taste the metals in food from being stored in metal same as plastic. When it comes to my coffee, I will dump the whole pot if someone uses water from the spicket that wasn't put through this filter first. It's not even a matter of being picky, it completely changes the taste of my coffee to the point to where it's nasty to me. These filters work. I may not be able to tell you how well and what it cleans out of the water but I can completely verify it cleans something. Night and day with and without. They are a staple in our house and have been for well over 4 years now. BTW, the large containers with the spring loaded spout are what we have. They have been put in the dishwasher, used by 8 people daily including 6 kids and still work flawlessly. No cracks. The filters last longer for us than it states. I can tell by how slow they let the water out when it's time to change them. They work until they stop letting water through. In our case it's around 2 months per cartridge. We empty and refill our 18 cup dispenser at least 2 times a day sometimes 3 and 4. Hope that helps. The item was as advertised in the description, arrived in the correct time frame and was shipped well and all in tact upon delivery. When the price is right, Amazon is my number one go to for almost everything. The Prime membership is (a lifesaver sometimes even) well worth it and the fact you can keep things in the cart until the price drops makes it a huge shopping tool. Thank you.

Reordering!
I am purchasing these for a second time today; I purchased my first order in August 2015. These work perfectly. I do not have any pictures because I'm on my last one now, I shall post some when I get my new order in! I see that some of the customers are saying that they are having problems after a couple of weeks with getting their water to filter. It tells you on the instructions of the 18 cup dispenser that the water needs to be cold. I keep mine refrigerated most times, but sometimes when I'm filling our other water tank, I fill the top with ice and it flows easily and smoothly. Warm or room temperature water causes the carbon inside of the filter to swell and which makes the water flow slow down. Cold water makes the carbon contract which makes the water flow faster. Just a tidbit of info for anyone that might be having problems with theirs. I hope that helps.
